Recently my friends Stephanie Susie & Katy Doersam & I got together to discuss designing a styled shoot for creatives in the tristate area. It seems like every year after the holidays us creatives have a slower season than the rest of the year & we all are aching to do something more. Yes I know most people would love to be off work but for us we NEED to create…its part of who we are & what we were born to do. Like breathing…ok maybe not that serious but you get the point. So, we got our heads together & found some of the top vendors in Southern Illinois & Southern Indiana who wanted to share their talents as well. Then we invited other photographers & videographers from all over to come shoot it with us. We were able to not only produce beautiful content but also hang out with other like minded people. It all came together so beautifully! I honestly have to say we were blown away by these vendors. Each of them gave up their time and talents just because they cared. It was amazing watching the creative community come together like this & work together rather than against each other. Community over competition has always been something I preach & to see everyone helping each other out meant the world to me.
A special THANK YOU to City View at Sterling Square for allowing us to take over their space for a couple days. You were so accommodating and we were in awe of your building. I can’t wait to shoot a wedding there! To Katy Doersam with KD decor….I mean just look at all of the decor she created, painted, designed. Her talents are abounding and we are just so thankful she shared them with everyone.
Natalie Joseph’s Salon, you are so insanely unique and not afraid to go outside of the box with your work. This is one of my favorite things about working with you. The positivity you bring to the room is my other favorite trait y’all have. You continually build people up and everyone is just so happy to be around you & feels beautiful because of it. Thank you!
To our models, we literally can’t say Thank You enough for letting us move ya around all day and boss you around. You were troopers & were so much fun to work with. I love that you both had eloped & this was a new experience for you. You rocked it & we are all so thankful for your patience!
To House of White, thank you for not only bringing gowns for our ladies but also for staying all day and taking care of them making sure every detail was perfect! The Diamond Galleria for not only providing the most beautiful diamonds and jewelry but for also hanging out all day and making sure everything stayed in place and looked perfection. Not everyone would do that and we appreciate you! Dillards, for taking the time to create the most handsome looks for our groom and groomsman. We appreciate all of your styling help and patience.
Hello Nola, thank you for making the beautiful stationery complete with hand colored watercolor and gold leaf!
The Bauerhaus created one of the most stunning cakes I have ever seen. With the hand painting & dried fruit. It seriously was a show stopper.
To Doug Rennie at Just Rennie’s Catering, you organized the most delicious food that not only taste heavenly but looked wonderful as well. I will forever dream of your lemon bars.
Finally to Parlor Doughnuts, I can not say thank you enough for the 3 trips you went out of your way to make bringing hundreds of doughnuts for us all to dream over. They were the most heavenly doughnuts I’ve tasted. Not only for the lovely food but for the coffee. EVERYONE thanks you for the coffee. I believe I had a total of 6 cups just by myself. You helped everyone get through the long day.
